Habits

Habits are like slices of your personality smeared across your surface. Parts of you polished over time, embedded in your DNA. Naughty little bugger, how can something so simple be so fuck complex? I sat with myself for an hour just crying about how much I have lost of myself over the years. I fucking cried about not being who I thought I was. How sad is that? Wishing I could go back and figure out when shit hit the fan.. 7 years ago I destroyed the person who loved me the most, myself. Why? Color Theory & Philosophy

Fun fact: not all artist enjoy color I happen to be one of those artist who enjoy a gray scale or monochromatic color scheme.. With that being said, you will find the use of color in my work but it’s never unintentional. Each color scheme is chosen and the application is somewhat organic. As long as I control media, the application is never a burden. It takes a couple minutes for me to figure out what I’m going to use, I’ll arrange them in a scale from light to dark then plug in the color where I feels it fits in the composition. Best of me

How do you measure your growth? My philosophy has always been to strive for the best version of myself, there’s always a gap between the person I see myself to be and the person I will be in the near future. It’s important to put things into perspective, celebrate the wins and learn from mistakes. I’ve always been a risk taker when it comes to my life and I must say, it feels amazing to be alive. Happy hump day!

A part of you

Lately I have noticed an interest shown by my students on the significance of art..Oddly I never thought I would have to explain why art matters but in some aspect, art serve little to no purpose to them. When you invest your being into something greater than yourself, it’s almost painful to think of anything that would be more significant. A part of my interest in art comes from my willingness to submit to my weaknesses, share parts of myself that most would not or allow myself to experience life without the lense of doubt. A part of you has to want to be a part of art and the process of creating. You have to want it more than...

Making time

Finding ways to make time for others can be a part-time job but nothing compares to making time for yourself.. Today, I made sure to created time for myself. Lately, I have had an urge to create. Each day I will always make myself a priority, to encourage myself to create and to submerge all doubt and discomfort-into creating the best version of myself. Always make time to reflect... Lastly, much attention was given to my breathing today, noticed I took extra breaths when I needed to and allowed myself to release just as much as I took in today.
