Monday’s can be quite annoying if you aren’t prepared, take some time on Sunday to prepare yourself for the upcoming week to ensure you start strong. I try to make my brain available for at least 30 minutes to conceptualize what I want my week to look like and how I plan to be successful. Sometimes it’s nice to be ahead of yourself, it gives opportunity a space to develop. I get a lot of anxiety when I don’t map my days out. Weekend vibes

Full week came to an end with delicious treats from a local bakery, online purchases and great conversations with people I adore. This week has been quite jammed pack with work and balancing my world outside of my day to day routine. I’m quite impressed with the work that was done during the week and it just boosts my creative juices for this upcoming week. My kiddos are starting to work with a new medium for the next few weeks and I want their work to be inspired by coral reefs through liquid water colors. They learned how to mix primary colors to create an array of colors and varies techniques to allow opportunities for expression. My upper level kids...

7 day challenge

Last week I challenged myself to write a blog post on anything I felt like writing with little to know changes. I’m proud to say I completed the challenge and that I am going to continue the challenge for an addition 7 days. This post will count as one for the next 7 days, reflection is such a crucial part of growth that to bypass lessons learned would be senseless. I’m always looking far into my future and rarely do I get opportunities to set short term goals and acknowledge those small victories. My message to you today is to try to give yourself a break. A part of you

Lately I have noticed an interest shown by my students on the significance of art..Oddly I never thought I would have to explain why art matters but in some aspect, art serve little to no purpose to them. When you invest your being into something greater than yourself, it’s almost painful to think of anything that would be more significant. A part of my interest in art comes from my willingness to submit to my weaknesses, share parts of myself that most would not or allow myself to experience life without the lense of doubt.
