Monday Philosophy

This week is off to a great start, most of the week has been prepared and my calendar is ready to go. Im a firm believe is starting of the week strong so you can end the week knowing you breasted these last 7 days. Here’s a brief overview of what my week will look like.. Due to weather alerts this past Friday, I decided to extend deadlines for reading assignments, drawings and any extensions given to my students.. with that said, there’s a lot that happens behind scene that we rarely talk about and one way I’ve found to be successful is to plan my shit out. Tea tasting

My Saturday consisted of driving to another city for a workshop on Japanese Tea culture and aspects of Zen Buddhism and the similarities between the two. Most workshops I’ve attended in the last two years are structured like a typical lecture and questions can be asked as your curiosity is peaked. I found some interest in the appreciation for arts through these tea ceremonies and how pieces would vary based on seasons. These ceremonies took place in an intimate space where everyone participated in a ritual that dates back to the 16th century. I’m always fascinated by ones interests in another culture. Fruits of labor

What defines your work ethic? Is it based on other people’s perception or solely off of yours? Often we measure our growth through the lens of another and lower ourselves when we don’t get instant gratification.. why is that? Where did we get this idea of this constant urge to acknowledgement? 30 years from now most of us will be a distant memory meant for others who genuinely didn’t know we exist.

Making time

Finding ways to make time for others can be a part-time job but nothing compares to making time for yourself.. Today, I made sure to created time for myself. Lately, I have had an urge to create. Each day I will always make myself a priority, to encourage myself to create and to submerge all doubt and discomfort-into creating the best version of myself. Always make time to reflect... Lastly, much attention was given to my breathing today, noticed I took extra breaths when I needed to and allowed myself to release just as much as I took in today.

Breaking Habits.

Here are some quick subconscious thoughts at the end of my day. Enjoy!
